DESCRIPTION:All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten\nDirected by Alan Harner.\nMusic direction by Jeff Wine.Auditions:\nSunday\, November 30\, 2025\, at 7:00pm\nand\nMonday\, December 1\, 2025\, at 7:00pm. \nPerformance Dates:\nFebruary 13\, 14\, 15\, 20\, 21\, 22\, 2026 \nAll I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten\nBased on the books by Robert Fulghum.\nConceived and adapted by Ernest Zulia.\nMusic and Lyrics by David Caldwell. \nBased on Robert Fulghum’s best-selling books\, Kindergarten takes a funny\, insightful\, heartwarming look at what is profound in everyday life. It’s an evening of theatrical storytelling in revue format\, with monologues\, dialogues\, and multiple voice narration\, enhanced through the use of live piano underscoring\, which provides fluidity\, charm\, and emotional texture\, and optional original songs. The delightful stories feature colorful characters such as: a shy little boy who insists on playing the “pig” in his class production of Cinderella and steals the show; a man whose dream of flying carries him high over Los Angeles … in a lawn chair buoyed by surplus weather balloons; a “mother of the bride” who’s staged a perfect wedding—until the bowling ball of fate rolls down the aisle; and a modern-day Greek philosopher who finds the meaning of life in a piece of broken mirror from World War II. These stories celebrate our very existence\, from the whimsy of childhood to the wisdom of old age. \nRoles are available for males and females aged late 20’s to early 70’s for both singing and non-singing actors. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Those that wish to audition for a singing role will be asked to stay after the cold readings and should prepare 32 bars of a Broadway-style song. Please bring sheet music\, an accompanist will be provided. No a capella auditions.\nPlease dress comfortably for any potential movement auditions. \nWhile the script calls for only 5 actors to play all the various roles\, we are hoping to cast upwards of 15 actors to be a part of the production.
